How it works, in any state
VoterFile reviews each source's requester category, purpose limits, certifications, geography, delivery rules, and current fee before choosing a workflow. In data-included jurisdictions, we obtain the approved official-file scope directly or under the customer's written authorization. In BYO jurisdictions, the qualified customer remains requester of record and brings its own authorized copy.
Data-included work goes through access and scope review, followed by a written software-and-service quote before purchase. Any official-source acquisition cost is disclosed and capped in writing. BYO work starts at the $299 founding software-only rate; you pay any government file fee through the state's request process.

VoterFile supports 46 jurisdictions today — 45 states plus Washington, DC: 36 data-included paths and 10 BYO paths, explicitly including California. Five additional state pages explain why the current hosted-processor workflow is not yet supported.

In 36 states and jurisdictions where the voter file is public or released to a campaign's authorized representative — including Ohio, Texas, New York, Florida, and Michigan — VoterFile obtains the official file and loads your race's voters into a private workspace. We review eligibility, geography, and official file cost first, then provide a written software-and-service quote. Any source acquisition cost is disclosed and capped in writing and requires approval before ordering.

Five states are not currently supported
VoterFile does not currently accept Delaware, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, or Virginia voter files. Each state currently lacks a confirmed path for a separate hosted processor to receive and process the official list. Delaware remains pending because Form VRFM006's third-party language is ambiguous; the other pages explain their recipient restrictions and what would need to change.

In BYO states, the campaign remains requester of record. VoterFile can explain the current checklist, prepare paperwork for the campaign's review, and validate and organize the authorized file after the issuing office delivers it. Modeled outputs appear only where the accepted state and privacy lane enables them.

Built for the races the national vendors skip
The national voter-data vendors are priced for statewide and federal campaigns. A first-time candidate for city council or school board is too small for that model. Which states can I use this in?
The states listed above are supported now. New states are added only after the official request path, permitted use, sharing rules, file layout, and product workflow have been reviewed. Some states cannot be supported under the current hosted-software model.
Do you sell the voter file?
No. In the 36 data-included states and jurisdictions, we obtain the official file only for the approved customer's campaign workspace. The written quote discloses and caps any official-source acquisition cost before approval. In BYO states, the customer obtains its own authorized file and we process it.
What does it cost?
The BYO founding rate starts at $299 per race for software and service only; any government file fee is paid through the state's request process. Data-included work is quote-first because geography and official acquisition cost vary. You receive a written software-and-service price before purchase, any source cost is disclosed and capped, and no file is ordered until you approve it.
