How to get your New Jersey voter file
You obtain your own New Jersey voter file directly from the County Superintendents of Elections (21 counties), under your own entitlement. Reproduction cost only, capped at $375 per county per calendar year, plus per-page or CD fees. There is no single statewide file; the statewide picture is assembled county by county.
You stay the requester of record and the owner of the file. VoterFile never buys or resells voter data. You bring your own file, and we are only the software that processes it for your race.
- The campaign or political customer submits an Open Public Records Act request to each relevant county's Superintendent of Elections and remains the requester and controller of the file.
- For one race, request only the county or counties in the district. After the county supplies the electronic list, bring that customer-authorized copy to VoterFile.
- The current New Jersey lane is BYO and raw-file only: VoterFile does not acquire the file directly or provide voter-level BISG or turnout-model outputs while the state's new data-broker regime is implemented.
- Do not upload the file yet. A real-file workspace activates only after VoterFile's Daniel's Law notice, removal/suppression, evidence, customer-notification, and future-import blocking workflow passes an end-to-end operator test.

Built for the races the big vendors skip

How onboarding works
First you sign a short services agreement that keeps VoterFile as your data processor, with no sale, no pooling, and deletion on request. Then you obtain your authorized New Jersey file using the steps above, upload it, and we import and organize it. This lane remains official-fields only, with voter-level BISG and turnout-propensity output disabled.
Nothing moves until the agreement is signed, and your file lives in a workspace no other customer can reach. When your race is over, or any time you ask, your file and the lists are deleted.

Can I use it for my New Jersey local race?
New Jersey permits political and campaign outreach but bars using the list for commercial or charitable solicitation of listed voters. Customer-provided processing stays solely for the requesting customer's benefit and under its control. Daniel's Law notices require removal or nondisclosure as soon as practicable and no later than 10 business days after receipt; actual file upload stays off until that suppression workflow is validated.
What does the software itself cost?
The BYO founding rate starts at $299 per race for software and service only. You obtain the authorized voter file yourself and pay any government fee directly through the state's request process.
