Step 1Pick your district
Open Districts, find the seat you are running for, and press Walk list. That turns your whole voter file into just the doors in your district. If you would rather narrow it yourself, filter the voter list and press Knock doors instead.
Step 2Choose how the route is split
On the Walk packets page, Route has two settings. Whole streets keeps both sides of a street together, which is what you want if you walk a street end to end. By precinct keeps each packet inside precinct lines, which is the reporting unit. Canvassers sets how many packets the list is cut into.
Step 3Take it to the doors
Press Knock doors for the phone version, or Preview print stack for paper. On a phone the current door is at the top of the screen, with Next door to move on. Walk sheet (print) prints a plain list instead of packets.
Step 4Record what happened
Mark each door as you go. The phone version saves your turf to the device automatically when you open it, so it keeps working with no signal, and syncs when you are back online. Field sync at the bottom shows anything still waiting.
Step 5Close out
Mark the packet complete when it is walked. Results land in the voter record, so the next list you build already knows who you spoke to.
